A couple in Australia thought they could stop on the side of a highway in the middle of nowhere and enjoy some sexy time together. However, the Google Maps van drove by and ruined those plans real fast.
That’s not even the craziest part of the story, because Google proceeded to post the picture on Google Maps without even realizing the couple was having sex.
In the photo, you can see the man with his pants part of the way down and his partner was bent over the hood of the vehicle in front of them, the Daily Star reported. This all took place on Dukes Highway in Keith, South Australia.
According to the Daily Star, the images were originally taken in 2013, but have resurfaced after they were shared on Reddit on Mar. 11 in the subreddit r/googlemaps shenanigans. The original poster said, “I found where these images were from.”
Of course, Reddit users were having a blast with this one and even praised the couple saying, “At least they were being safe and pulled over!” That is true, as another user said, “No shame!”
It seems like the spot is familiar to some people, as one user said, “I must have driven past that spot 8-9 times driving between Adelaide and Melbourne.”
Since it happened in Australia, we got a chance to see some locals using Aussie slang, as one user said, “Best thing about South Australia is the highway outta there! May as well cop a root on it.”
For those of us not familiar, “root” is often used in reference to sex, which another user got a kick out of: “I’d forgotten about that particular piece of slang. Gives ‘root, root, root for the home team’ a whole new meaning.”

According to the Toronto Sun, Google has since taken the photos down from Google Maps. They also said public sex in South Australia is punishable by a AUD $1,100 fine or up to six months in prison. It is not believed the couple was arrested at that time.
