According to authorities, a small aircraft with two passengers on board safely landed after its door became dislodged during a flight over a public park in a recent incident.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., a distress call was made from Buffalo International Airport in New York, leading to the response of Cheektowaga Police and Fire Dispatch regarding the unfolding incident.
The Cheektowaga Police Department released a statement verifying the incident and reported that “while flying over Stiglmeier Park in Cheektowaga, an airplane transporting two people encountered door detachment. Luckily, the aircraft was able to safely land.”
Despite conducting a search in the area where it’s believed that the door detached, law enforcement officers have not been able to find it yet. It is impressive that there were no reported injuries or damages following this incident.
