Police reported that a couple in their 50s was kidnapped and brutally assaulted while house hunting in Connecticut over the weekend.

The incident took place Sunday afternoon in Danbury, where six men deliberately rear-ended the couple’s Lamborghini sports car and forced them into a van.

The attackers, all residents of Florida, assaulted the couple with a baseball bat, restrained them with duct tape, and blindfolded the male victim. While some of the assailants drove off in the Lamborghini, the others attempted to flee with the couple in the van.

“The male victim suffered significant bruising and swelling, consistent with being struck multiple times with a bat,” Sgt. Steven Castrovinci told media.

A witness, who saw the incident unfold, alerted the authorities and followed the van until it crashed. Police quickly apprehended the four men in the van and rescued the couple. The remaining two suspects were later arrested.

The victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover from their non-life-threatening injuries.
