The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a lake effect snow warning for northwestern Pennsylvania and western New York, where snowfall totals could reach up to 3 feet in some areas. Additionally, a winter storm warning has been issued for portions of Wisconsin and Michigan, where lake-effect snow may accumulate up to 2 feet in localized areas.

The Arctic air has already hit the upper Midwest, with wind chills plunging to a dangerous -38 degrees in eastern North Dakota on Wednesday morning.
