In California, a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody on Friday after being accused of committing the murder of his parents and attempting to murder his younger sister, who is 11 years old. The incident occurred at their residence located in Fresno County, California.
On Wednesday night, authorities were called to the Miramonte neighborhood following a report of burglary and aggression. Sheriff John Zanoni shared during a press conference that upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers found that both parents had passed away while the sister was left with injuries. There was also an uninjured 7-year-old sibling who relatives had taken in.
At first, the adolescent male asserted that an outsider had assaulted his family before escaping in a pickup truck. Nevertheless, law enforcement officials pinpointed contradictions within his statement, resulting in eventual apprehension. Sheriff Zanoni declared, “He devised the narrative of the burglary.” Minor scrapes were inflicted upon the teenager, and no proof was found regarding self-inflicted harm.
Because the suspect is a minor, his identity has been kept private. The mother’s name is Se Vang, and the father’s name is Lue Yang; both were 37 years old. Further information about how and why they died will be determined through investigation at a later time.
Despite suffering severe injuries, the sister who received trauma care was expected to survive. The authorities were still evaluating the weapons utilized in the assault; Sheriff Zanoni mentioned that some are not unusual in rural regions. Miramonte is positioned within the Sierra Nevada mountains and lies 40 miles west of Mount Whitney, where the incident occurred.
At the news conference, the reason for the unfortunate occurrences remained unknown. The household had no prior visit records from deputies, and it was uncertain if formal accusations were made or whether legal assistance represented the suspect. Despite attempts to reach out, there was no immediate response from Fresno County’s public defender’s office regarding any remarks on this issue.

The teenager in question faced allegations of murder and attempted murder while being detained at a juvenile facility. Sheriff Zanoni expressed his deep sadness by stating, “It is extremely tragic.”
