Following a meticulous search amidst the wreckage of a partially collapsed building in the Bronx, the New York Fire Department declared that no individuals were discovered as victims. Only two people incurred minor injuries, marking the sole instances of harm during the evacuation process.
The alert about the building’s corner collapse in the Bronx reached authorities at approximately 3:38 p.m. ET. Swiftly responding within a two-minute window, the fire department evacuated the remaining sections of the building and initiated a thorough exploration of the debris.
During a press conference, Fire Department Commissioner Laura Kavanagh affirmed that the search would persist until either locating someone or confirming the absence of individuals beneath the rubble. Emergency responders utilized a combination of manual efforts, drones, robotics, and canine units throughout the exploration. By just after 10 p.m. ET, the Fire Department officially confirmed the absence of victims.
“On the heels of persistent efforts, FDNY members conducted an extensive search for potential victims in the aftermath of the partial building collapse at 1915 Billingsley Terrace,” stated a post on the fire department’s social media page. “They meticulously combed through a substantial debris pile, reaching heights of 12 feet in certain areas, and found no victims. Two civilians sustained minor injuries during the evacuation.”
Expressing gratitude for the fortunate outcome, Kavanagh highlighted the absence of serious injuries resulting from the collapse.

“Remarkably, there were no severe injuries in connection with the partial building collapse at 1915 Billingsley Terrace,” Kavanagh conveyed on social media that Monday night. “Given the scene and surveillance footage, the situation could have been far worse. We anxiously awaited updates as @FDNY members systematically navigated through the debris pile.”
