Lori Vallow, the mother convicted in a doomsday plot involving the murder of two of her children, is set to face charges related to the killing of her fourth husband and an alleged conspiracy to murder her niece’s ex-husband in Arizona. The 50-year-old was extradited from Idaho to Arizona and has been held without bond since her initial court appearance on Nov. 30. The arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. MT Thursday.
The charges stem from a 2021 indictment by a Maricopa County grand jury for the murder of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, who was fatally shot in 2019. In 2022, she faced additional charges for allegedly plotting with her brother to kill Brandon Boudreaux, her niece’s ex-husband.
Currently serving a life sentence without parole in Idaho for the murders of her children, Joshua “J.J.” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16, Lori Vallow has consistently denied the charges, asserting in court that no murder occurred and attributing the deaths to accidents and suicides. Her attorney filed a notice of appeal in October.
The disappearance of J.J. and Tylee in September 2019 led to a monthslong search, ultimately revealing their remains on an Idaho property owned by her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, in June 2020. Both Vallow and Daybell, known for their doomsday beliefs, subscribed to an ideology suggesting they had a divine mission.
Court documents revealed Lori Vallow’s growing interest in Daybell’s books contributed to the deterioration of her 13-year marriage to Charles Vallow. The shooting death of Charles by Lori’s brother, Alex Cox, in July 2019 triggered investigations, with prosecutors alleging a complex conspiracy between Lori and Cox to murder Charles.

In a related incident, three months after Charles’s shooting, Boudreaux reported being shot at in Arizona, leading to an indictment accusing Lori Vallow and Cox of planning to murder him. The trial is scheduled to commence on April 4, 2024.
