If you’ve ever shared a hospital room with another patient, you know it can get annoying when they make noise. You are there to rest and recover. We can understand the annoyance, but an elderly woman in the southwestern German city of Mannheim took it to a new level as she was annoyed by the noise from a fellow patient’s oxygen machine, so she decided to turn it off!
The 79-year-old woman was laying in her hospital bed using the oxygen machine that helps her breathe and live, Gulf News reported. The fellow patient thought the machine was a little too much for her, according to police.
Officials said the 72-year-old woman “is strongly suspected of having switched off the main switch” of the oxygen machine.” This was apparently “after feeling disturbed by the noise coming from the oxygen device,” Gulf News stated.
It wasn’t a one-and-done thing either, as the woman tried the first time when she allegedly switched off the oxygen supply around 8 pm that night, police said. However, the hospital staff was able to intervene, as they told the woman that the oxygen supply was vital to her 79-year-old roommate.
She did not take the warning from the hospital staff. After an hour, the suspect allegedly turned the machine off again. However, some consequences followed when she shut it off this time.
The victim had to be resuscitated, officials said. Because of this, an arrest warrant was issued against the suspect, as she was charged with attempted manslaughter, Gulf News reported.
According to officials, the former roommate is no longer in a life-threatening condition but is still being treated in intensive care. All because her roommate thought the oxygen machine was too loud!

Police said the suspect did appear in court and was taken to jail while the investigation continues. They said it was unclear whether the two women knew each other.
