Tesla is recalling over 27,000 Cybertrucks due to an issue where the rearview camera image may not display immediately after shifting into reverse. This marks the fifth recall for the vehicle since its release late last year.
To resolve the problem, Tesla has issued a free software update, with notification letters expected to be sent out on November 25.
Cybertruck owners have faced several recalls since the vehicle’s launch in November. In June, Tesla addressed issues with loose trim pieces and faulty front windshield wipers. Earlier, in April, some vehicles were recalled due to a sticking accelerator pedal.
In the latest recall, Tesla informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that affected trucks may experience a delay of up to eight seconds before the rearview display activates after shifting into reverse. U.S. regulations require the rearview camera to turn on within two seconds.
