Parents of Deceased Jeopardy Champ Sue Hospital for Wrongful Death

The parents of former “Jeopardy” champion Brayden Smith have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a hospital in Las Vegas.  Smith passed away in February of ’21 after undergoing stomach surgery.  The lawsuit filed by Smith’s parents accuses the medical staff of negligent medical malpractice.  Negligence is a term used by those in the legal industry to refer to the failure to provide those in one’s vicinity with the proper level of care.   Indeed, hospital medical personnel performing surgical operations have a duty of care for the patient undergoing the procedure.  However, it is unclear as to whether Smith’s death is the result of medical malpractice or his unique physiological response to the surgical procedure. The Details of the Lawsuit Smith, 24, won Jeopardy five straight times prior to undergoing surgery for an issue in his abdomen and colon.  Smith’s parents have named three defendants in the ensuing wrongful death lawsuit.  The defendants are specific medical staff members who performed the operation at Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican Hospital-Siena Campus in Henderson.  Henderson is a beautiful sprawling suburban area that borders the city of Las Vegas.  Fox 5 dished the details of the lawsuit earlier this week. New COVID-19 Strain Dubbed “Deltacron” Supposedly Discovered by Cyprus Scientists

Scientists in Cyprus have discovered a combination of the Delta and Omicron variants dubbed “Deltacron.”  Though some in the scientific community have disputed the supposed finding, it is concerning that yet another variant combination might have emerged in the aftermath of Omicron.  Omicron has stifled activity in public settings, lead to overcrowded hospitals, and tanked the stock market in back-to-back weeks.   A Closer Look at the Deltacron Variant The new coronavirus variant is supposedly a combination of the two previous strains.  However, some supposed experts insist the claim from the Cyprus scientists should be quashed as it is the result of an alleged contamination.  A University of Cyprus professor of biological sciences insists he and his team pinpointed 25 cases of the allegedly new strain.  The Deltacron strain is named as such since it has Delta’s genomes and markers from Omicron.   The professor went on to state the Delta and Omicron infections are co-infections.  He also states the strain is a combination of the two variants.  The Cyprus scientific team insists it will see if the strain is more contagious or pathological as time progresses.   The Origins of Deltacron The Cyprus team of scientists insists the initial Deltacron case was...

New Development in 45 Year Search for Jimmy Hoffa’s Body Leads FBI to New Jersey Landfill

Born in 1913, Jimmy Hoffa was an American labor union activist who was known to be involved in organized crime. He disappeared on July 30, 1975 and was declared dead on July 30, 1982, but officials continued to search for his body. Recent developments have led to a New Jersey landfill beneath an elevated highway.  According to sources, the FBI obtained a search warrant to conduct a site survey under the Pulaski Skyway, a three-mile bridge that spans over what can be called an industrial wasteland that includes marshes west of Manhattan.  The area being investigated was a Little League diamond located on the landfill. It was once featured in an ad for the Sopranos TV show.  Although the search for Hoffa has been dormant for the past few years, it started up again after a tip from landfill worker Frank Cappola. Cappola told a friend that his dying father confessed in 2008 that he had been ordered by an unidentified man to bury Hoffa’s body in a steel drum. He explained that Hoffa’s body was delivered to the landfill in 1975, placed in a steel drum and buried with other barrels, dirt, and bricks.  Agents from Detroit and Newark’s...
