Hurricane Otis, a formidable Category 5 storm, struck the coastal city of Acapulco, Mexico, early Wednesday morning, resulting in a tragic toll of 27 lives lost and four individuals reported missing. This grim update was delivered by the city’s mayor during a press briefing on Thursday.
In the wake of the devastating hurricane, Acapulco’s General Hospital suffered considerable damage, necessitating the urgent transfer of 200 patients to alternative medical facilities. Rosa Isela Rodriguez, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, informed the media that the hospital is expected to resume normal operations within the next 24 hours.
