Theilvig, an advocate for animal protection who also works in the diamond industry, claimed the crown at the 73rd edition of the competition held Saturday in Mexico City. She triumphed over Miss Nigeria, who took the runner-up position, while Miss Mexico placed third.

A Historic Night in Mexico City
The event took place at the Mexico City Arena, a venue with a seating capacity of 20,000. Spectators waved flags and cheered for their representatives from across the globe, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The evening began with a dazzling performance by 131 mariachi musicians accompanied by singer Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, performing “Mexicana,” a song composed by Emilio Estefan for the occasion.
The ceremony was co-hosted by a star-studded panel, including Mario López, Olivia Culpo (Miss Universe 2012), Zuri Hall, and Catriona Gray (Miss Universe 2018).
