BRASILIA — A man killed by explosions outside Brazil’s Supreme Court in Brasilia on Wednesday night is believed to have been attempting an attack, a presidential official reported. The incident comes just days before the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro.

Authorities identified the suspect as Francisco Wanderley Luiz, who was seen exiting his vehicle with a small bag around 7:30 p.m. local time. According to the presidential office, Luiz attempted to enter the Supreme Court building but was unsuccessful. Shortly after, he detonated an explosive device, killing himself.
