HONOLULU — A small cargo plane on a training flight crashed into a vacant building near Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, killing both pilots on board, authorities confirmed.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m., shortly after Kamaka Air Flight 689 took off, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Video footage captured the plane veering sideways at a low altitude before slamming into the vacant building, sparking a fire and sending a thick plume of black smoke into the air.
