Runaway Bull Captured After Wild Chase on Massachusetts Highway

A lone runaway bull, part of a group of eight that escaped from a rodeo at a Massachusetts mall parking lot, has been captured after a chase that ended on a highway.

The bull was lassoed and loaded into a trailer on U.S. Highway 1 in North Attleboro on Monday night, not far from where the group of bulls broke through their pens and charged through a crowded parking lot on Sunday.

The bulls knocked down fences, bumped into a tent, and headed toward the highway before making their way into nearby woods. By late Sunday afternoon, seven of the eight bulls had been rounded up, leading to the closure of the Festival Rodeo at the Emerald Square Mall.

A pet-tracking business, Wandering Paws K9, was brought in to help locate the last bull, according to WBZ News. The team used a drone and notified police when they spotted it.

“I’ve never been out looking for a lost bull before. This is definitely one for the books,” said Samantha Beckman of Wandering Paws K9.

Police cruisers followed the bull as it roamed near businesses and through the woods before it was finally captured. Rodeo staff, local police, fire departments, and the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing all worked together to bring the situation to a close.
