Authorities Investigate Death of Woman at Burning Man Festival

Authorities are currently investigating the death of a 39-year-old woman on the opening day of the Burning Man Festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.

Festival emergency services discovered Kendra Frazer, an attendee, unresponsive around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to both the Burning Man Project and Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen. Deputies arrived on the scene and confirmed her death, Allen reported.

“The cause and manner of her death remain under investigation, pending the results of an autopsy and toxicology screening,” the sheriff stated in a press release on Monday.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends affected by this tragic loss,” festival organizers said in a statement. “The safety and well-being of our community is our top priority. We are fully cooperating with local authorities during their investigation.”
