Ex-NFL player Quentin Hines brings strippers to high school charity event, causes outrage

It was supposed to be a charity event at a Macomb County High School gymnasium in Michigan, but it ended with parents disgusted by what was seen during the event. A video clip appeared on social media showing one of the performers along with his background dancer, who was dressed in lingerie and twerking.

Over the weekend, Rivals Recruiting Worldwide, a marketing service founded by Quentin Hines, a former NFL player and graduate of the high school, hosted a charity event and hired performers to entertain guests, according to Yahoo! News. However, one performer, rapper O.T. Rell, left attendees feeling extremely uncomfortable.

According to Hines, he was not aware of the performer’s plans. He said, “I don’t think she was a stripper. She was one of his dancers, and she was underdressed. It’s unacceptable,” according to Yahoo! News.

A mother of one of the students doesn’t believe the underdressed woman was a “dancer” and Matt Pitters, a ‘98 graduate, said he was “appalled” by the performance. He added, “The club promoters … I don’t fault them. It’s the fault of, you know, our school leaders.”

However, Hines was the promoter behind the 20 artists featured at the event. He rented the school gym and he has taken full responsibility for what happened that night. He said, “There’s a lot of…local singers and rappers, R&B artists that want to get their name out there, and they donate to our charity to be able to perform. And we try to provide them with an opportunity to potentially gain more fans.”

They are definitely getting a lot of attention from the event, but O.T. Rell states that Hines knew the woman would be attending with him, saying, “They knew that the stripper was coming because I said it numerous times.”

Superintendent Monique Beels said she was “appalled and disgusted” about what happened that night after she watched footage from the gym. She added, “The application was for a charity event, it was to be a Sweetest Day musical event and talent show…We have rented to this person before; we had no reason to think that anything inappropriate would take place. Nothing ever had in the past.”
