Disturbing video shows NYC man randomly stabbed in broad daylight

A video has just been released showing a horrific incident that involves a man stabbing another man on the Upper East Side of New York City on Thursday.

The 16 seconds of footage shows the assailant wearing all black with his face covered by a balaclava mask. He gets off his bike and begins swinging a large knife at the 29-year-old stranger before eventually stabbing him several times.

The NYPD tweeted the clip Saturday in an attempt to identify the attacker.

“NYC: On 5/26 at 1:50 PM near 3 Avenue & E 63 Street in Manhattan, a 29-year-old male was walking when he was slashed multiple times in the back and arm by an unknown individual. If you have any information on the incident or suspect, contact @NYPDTips at 800-577-TIPS,” the police post reads.

The victim is wearing a baseball cap and white mask and carrying a brown paper bag in the video. He tries to escape his attacker by backing away from him. But the knife-wielding assailant continued to follow him chasing him off the sidewalk and onto the road.

The attack happened in broad daylight near the subway entrance to the Q and F trains on East 63rd. St and 3rd Ave. It occurred just before 2 PM.

The victim was stabbed multiple times in the back and left arm. He claims he did not know the attacker and that he was stabbed without provocation.

The assailant fled the scene in an unspecified direction on an e-bike. The NYPD is currently searching for the man who is described to be around 30 years old with a medium build. They are asking for the public’s help in the matter.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.
