When going out to eat for fast food there’s always the possibility of them messing up an order, which could potentially have a negative impact on the rest of your day. There are a number of ways to handle getting a wrong order There are also numerous ways for fast food workers to handle disgruntled customers. When either party chooses to act inappropriately, the consequences could be dire. That’s exactly what unfolded in Miami, last Thursday, March 17th, when 30-year old Burger King employee Shateasha Hicks was arrested for discharging a firearm in public.

Police reports state that she fired five gunshots at a Florida Burger King customer following a verbal altercation that took place at the restaurant. After the exchange of words concluded, the customer threw mayo at Hicks, prompting her to leave her post at the drive-thru window for her vehicle, where her gun was. Then, she tracked down the customer in his car, and shot at him (in his vehicle) at least five times before he was able to drive off. Police arrested Hicks after her vehicle was found about a half a mile from her home, but the customer has yet to be tracked down by authorities. Needless to say, Burger King officials were horrified to learn of the incident. In a statement they released following the incident:

“We are horrified to learn of the events that unfolded at this location. This unacceptable behavior does not align with our brand values of safety and security. Our franchisee is cooperating with local authorities. As this remains an ongoing investigation, we aren’t able to share additional details at this time.” Hopefully this serves as a lesson to anyone who typically gives fast food workers a hard time after receiving an incorrect order.
