Britney Spears has always been known for her ever-changing sound, private life, and everyday style. She’s one of the most iconic singers of this generation and she continues to be a household name. 

However, after years of success and fame, Britney found herself spiraling out of control. In 2007, she was hospitalized for mental health treatment, and she would go on to make headlines for driving without a license and allegedly abusing drugs. It seemed like anything that could go wrong, did.

By now, most people know that Britney’s father Jamie Spears allegedly forced his daughter into a conservatorship in 2008. 

Today, Britney is no longer just an international superstar—she is doing her best to live the life of a regular person. Now 40, Britney holds her dad responsible for taking away her womanhood.

She recently unloaded via Instagram to let the world know how she feels about her dad and the effect he’s had on her life. According to Britney, Jamie once told her that he was Britney Spears, not her. This was allegedly said during an argument the two had over who called the shots in Britney’s life.

After the Conservatorship: What’s Next?

Britney Spears has always been a private person, and she chooses to keep her personal life just that—personal. Now it appears that Britney is finally ready to speak out about her conservatorship and the fallout that ensued.

The conservatorship was established by Jamie Spears. Britney, who had been fighting a long battle with mental health issues, entered rehab, and it was clear that there was no other option but for Jamie to take control of her life. 

This wasn’t an easy decision for Jamie—he claimed that he had to put his daughter in a position where she could no longer make any decisions on her own behalf. This meant he would have power over anything from her finances to her healthcare decisions.

Public view of the conservatorship changed over the years, with most people now believing it was set up as a way for Britney’s family to gain control over her fame and fortune.

Now that the conservatorship has officially ended, it appears that Britney is ready to move on and start a family, even if her family remains against the idea
