NEW ORLEANS, LA — At least 10 people lost their lives, and about 30 others were injured early Wednesday morning when a vehicle struck a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, according to police and city officials.

Authorities have described the incident, which occurred around 3:15 a.m. at the intersection of Canal and Bourbon streets, as a “mass casualty incident.”
